Why You Should Spend $1,000,000 on a Wedding Photographer

Okay, most couples can’t dish out even close to a million dollars for any aspect of their wedding. But here is why you should spend a big chunk of your wedding dollars on the absolute 100% perfect Photographer.

Photos are the one tangible item that you take away from your wedding. They tell the story of your day and allow you to share it with friends, family, and maybe someday your children and grandchildren.

When I married the man of my dreams 4 and a half years ago we didn’t have rich parents or a bunch of money saved up, but I knew that I wanted to remember this day for the rest of my life. And the best way to do that is by hiring the best person for the job.

Now to find the best person, word of mouth is a great first step. But just because your bestie used the a certain photog doesn’t mean the same person will fit your style. Do your research and check out the previous weddings they have shot. Do you like their style of pictures? Did you like how the couple was positioned? Analyze the images. It’s really important you fall in love with their work.

This person will be responsible for capturing one of the most important days of your life. Connect with them and make sure the chemistry is there. Get every picture you want. Look through their past work for idea shots but remember, they’re the experts.

Keep in mind that most photographers will offer engagement shots. Take advantage of this! These pictures can be used for so many different things. Save the Dates, Wedding Invites, Wedding Programs (wink, wink), or just great shots of the two of you when it all began. Plus, most photographers have tons of ideas for engagement shoots and if you and your other half are game, roll with one of their ideas. It could turn out to be the greatest shot of your lives!

It may not be easy but it will be worth it. This day is too precious to not (properly) remember.
